筒体为圆筒形焊接结构，它用来承担塔架的全部正压力和倾覆力矩，上部法兰面用来联接支撑座，整个筒体采用焊接方式与船体的主结构相联接，筒体内的空间为塔架的上下移动通道，内壁设有导向支座、扶梯及必要的检修平台。
The pedestal is a cylindrical welding structure, which is used for bearing all the positive pressure and overturning torque of seawater tower. The upper flange is used to connect the supporting bases. The whole pedestal is connected with the main structure of the hull by welding. The inside space of pedestal is used as channels for tower’s moving up and down. The inner wall is set with the guide bearing, escalators and the necessary maintenance platform.
